The Global Expansion of Krishna Community (GEOKC) functions as a religious non-profit temple organization dedicated to serving its community and spreading its message. Like many growing religious organizations, maintaining an accessible and informative online presence is crucial for connecting with members, sharing teachings, and facilitating support.
Challenges
The project for GEOKC involved several significant challenges in modernizing their digital footprint. A primary undertaking was the substantial task of migrating over 100 static HTML pages to a more dynamic and user-friendly WordPress-friendly environment. This required not only transferring the content but also restructuring it to leverage WordPress’s capabilities while preserving the original look and feel of the website. Another key challenge was the seamless integration of payment processing capabilities to facilitate online donations and contributions, a critical function for a non-profit organization. Furthermore, a vital part of the project involved effectively training the client’s team to confidently use and navigate the new WordPress platform, empowering them to manage content and updates independently moving forward.
Functionality
The revitalized online presence for GEOKC is built upon a robust and adaptable WordPress-based foundation. The site leverages the flexibility provided by the OceanWP and Kadence themes. This combination was chosen to offer a balance of aesthetic appeal and functional customization, allowing the site to maintain a visually appropriate design while providing the necessary tools for content management and future expansion. The implementation included integrating donation payment processing through GiveWP and Stripe, providing a secure and convenient way for supporters to contribute to the organization’s mission. This functionality ensures that the website serves not just as an information hub but also as a vital tool for fundraising and community engagement.
